As Jagjit Singh's name comes, 100 of Gazals are remembered very often, That’s why he is called ' Gazal -Samrat'( ग़ज़ल - सम्राट ) , due to his voice, many gazals continue to resonate today. Jagjit Singh (9 February 1961 - 10 October 2011) is one of the most popular Gazal singers. His music is melodious and his voice melts beautifully with the music. Once, Gazal considered to be the property of the people who know Urdu. The tinkling in the world of Nawabs and Mugals, and the credit of sending the erratic ghazals to the common man on the cheering ( वाह - वाह ). If someone is to be given the initiative first, it is Jagjit Singh . His Gazals not only enhanced the understanding of Shero-Shayari among the lesser Urdu scholars but also introduced him to such poets as Ghalib, Mir, Majaz, Josh and Firaq. Jagjit Singh was awarded the Padma Bhushan in the field of art by the Government of India in 2003. Two stamps were also released in your honor and memory in February 2014.
