Some one said in Arabic language GAZAL(ग़ज़ल) word means to talk a woman or about women.

I do not know how and when gazal came to our country and region but doubtless it came to us 

in the some golden voices.

Talat Mehmood was the real founder of modern semi-classical and non-classical gazal. So, his influence upon other contemporary and succeeding gazal singers has been broad and profound. It was he who paved the way for such legendary gazal singers as  Mehdi Hassan  and  Jagjit Singh . Hence he will always be placed very high for his contributions to transform and revitalize the whole art and form gazal singing. Talat Mehmood (February 26, 1926 - May 9, 1998) was an Indian singer and actor. Known with his trembling voice, he is also called the king of the Gazal world.
